POSITION OVERVIEW
Alelo Inc., developer of award-winning language learning products, seeks an experienced English Language Learning (ELL) writer/editor to lead the writing of English language learning simulations for Alelo’s Enskill learning platform.  This is a Contract Position.

DUTIES:
 
  • Review existing learning materials and feedback from instructors and students and make revisions, as needed.
  • Lead the writing of English as a foreign language (EFL) learning simulations aligned with CEFR proficiency levels and can-do statements.
  • Research curriculum and develop the scope and sequence to be used in the development of the language learning simulations
  • Collaborate with Alelo content writers to develop simulation premises
  • Write simulation premises, learning objectives, and scripts that adhere to the scope and sequence, follow the basic structure of the previously developed A1 and A2 Enskill English simulations, and are deployable using Alelo’s branching conversation authoring systems (which includes both proprietary authoring tools and 3rd party systems such as Microsoft’s Speech API and LUIS).  To accomplish this, you will need to develop an understanding of Alelo’s branching conversation authoring systems and become familiar with the basic structure of the previously developed Alelo A1 and A2 English simulations
  • Review and edit content written by Alelo content authors
  • Review implemented scenarios in the product during the development process, recommend changes as needed.
  • Create sample lesson plans and other implementation materials for instructors.
  • Attend weekly team meetings with the project manager, content authors and other team members as needed.
  • Meet project deadlines and adhere to allocated hours
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Education, TESOL or related field; Master’s or Doctorate degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience writing for English language learners, including English as a foreign language (EFL)
  • Experience using the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR)
  • Experience in writing for interactive media or other educational technologies; branching conversations a plus
  • Experience working remotely
