We are looking for a User Experience Specialist who will be responsible for every aspect of the user experience in Alelo products. All Alelo products must have elegant and clean interfaces, attractive and functional graphics, clear and concise goals, and seamless and compelling interactivity. In order to achieve these goals, the User Experience Specialist must be involved with every aspect of the product lifecycle, from concept approval to planning support, and must work closely with all personnel and departments along the way.

The User Experience Specialist must also carefully monitor the user experience for each product during the production process. This must be done through constant attention to both the people making the product, and the process used to make the product. The User Experience Specialist must maintain a close understanding of the evolving product by attending all significant product meetings, as well as by personally using each major build as it is internally released.

The User Experience Specialist must be involved in user evaluations and reviews, in the course of iterative evaluation and review of the product. He or she must review feedback from early users and identify issues that may require revision of the user experience. This often involves prioritizing feature requests, and determining which are critical to address, which are desirable but not essential, and which should be addressed in a different way. Any revisions must be reconciled with previous expectations.

This is a full-time position with full employment benefits. This position is on-site at our west Los Angeles headquarters.


Requirements: 

• 6+ years of experience with graphic user interface design
• BS in Visual Design, Interaction Design, or related field.
• A digital portfolio

Skills Required: 

• Demonstrated experience in creating multiple graphical user interfaces in a variety of electronic media including mobile devices
• Strong interaction with multiple sets of peers, including software engineers, graphic artists, content designers and audio designers
• Demonstrable clear ability to communicate visually and verbally
• Can create user interaction flows and wireframes quickly 
• Ability to make high-fidelity mockups and/or interactive prototypes
• Knowledge of software industry standards, user-centered design processes, interaction design guidelines, and usability methodologies
• Extensive experience with formal and informal user testing, usability studies, and formal evaluations
• Thorough understanding of Agile, iterative software development processes
• Local to Southern California
• Must have right to work in the US for any employer

Other Skills Desired:

• Experience with educational or interactive software (including video games)
• Expertise in Photoshop with ability to create final design assets
• Strong leadership skills
• Expertise in data visualization and/or information architecture
